University Housing recycled 26,540 lbs, or 13.7 tons, of cardboard during Move-in 2016.

This compares to 30,400 lbs, or 15.2 tons, recycled during the move-in process in 2015.

That’s 10 percent less cardboard.

University Housing partners with Boston Mountain Solid Waste to make sure those cardboard boxes get used again through recycling.

“Thank you for recycling and for allowing us to assist, in your efforts, to keep this cardboard out of the landfill,” said Sandy Smith, Boston Mountain Solid Waste’s deputy director in an email.
