As the weather cools, leaves start to change color, and the sound of roaring fans from the football stadium fills campus, most freshmen begin to feel more at home here at the University of Arkansas. Living down the hill can definitely feel less than ideal at times, but when it’s football season there is nowhere better to be! In the Honeycomb neighborhood, whether you go to the game or not, you are submerged in the gameday experience. The fireworks can be seen from our windows, the cheers can be heard in our halls, and our sidewalks are full of excited razorback fans.
This last week Honeycomb had an amazing time with our second Neighborhood event of the year. The event was our Fall Festival and it included Games, prizes, painting, and hotdogs. There’s no better way to celebrate the beginning of fall than meeting new people and winning prizes!
There is always a way to get involved in Adohi and Pomfret! This week we have our Pomfret Field Day Tuesday the 26th at 6:00pm in the Adohi/Pomfret Lawn. After Field Day you can walk over to the Adohi Basketball Court for Taco Tuesday Tourney at 7:00pm where you can participate in the basketball tournament and enjoy some delicious tacos. The Creative Community has a variety of events for students to take advantage of all throughout the week. Lastly, Leadhogs is a leadership opportunity that gives freshman leadership opportunities, builds their resume, and helps create connections across campus.
Pomfret Hall’s Coordinator for Residence Education, Leslie, celebrated students in a unique way. Leslie made cookies from scratch for each resident as a way to celebrate getting through their first set of college exams. The resident assistants in the halls went around blasting music and banging on doors to make sure everyone had the chance to enjoy their treat!
