What a year! Here are some reminders and tips for having a successful move-out.

Prepare for Departure

Please select a departure slot for move-out as soon as possible. Following that process will help you to avoid an improper check-out fee. Departure slots are available now on the Housing Portal.

Use Your Pass

There is no parking in any fire lanes around the residence halls.

On your scheduled check-out day, if you do not have a Resident Reserved permit, you can go to your front desk (where you receive packages) and receive a dashboard pass. This pass allows you to park in Resident Reserved for a specific period.

You can pick up a dashboard pass 60 minutes before your scheduled check-out time.

The dashboard pass expires 30 minutes after your scheduled check-out time. Put this dashboard pass on the vehicle dash so parking enforcement staff know you are moving your items out of your room.

There will be parking meters in each Resident Reserved parking lot that can be used for move-out loading.

Any parking meter used that does not have a move-out parking bag requires payment for parking.

As a reminder, you should not park your vehicle in an ADA parking space unless you have an ADA parking designation on your e-permit or a state-issued ADA parking hang tag.

Dump Your Trash

The trash chutes and trash rooms are locked now. Dumpsters will be outside your residence hall. Take all trash and unwanted carpets to these exterior dumpsters.

Last Call for Packages

Mail delivery to the residence halls will end on Tuesday, May 7. Keep this date in mind when you make any online purchases.

Check your mailbox before you complete your check-out from your room at the end of the semester. We want to ensure that you take your mail and package deliveries home with you.

Update your forwarding mailing address in UAConnect. This assists our staff in forwarding your mail after closing if needed.

Leave Green

Leave Green donation boxes will be in your hall lobby or lounge for any usable items that you do not wish to take home with you. These items will be donated to Potters House and Habitat for Humanity ReStore.

Donate Your Food

The Jane Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry will also have donation boxes in your hall lobby where you can donate any unopened, nonperishable food items you do not wish to take home.

Don’t Forget Your Bike

If you have your bike on campus, please remember to remove it from the bike rack before you depart campus at the end of the semester. If you are not using your bike, you may want to take it home before finals and hall closing.

You can even donate your bike to Pedal It Forward through a bike donation drive offered by the Office for Sustainability. See this University of Arkansas News article for more information.

No Painting Please

Students are prohibited from painting or retouching damaged paint in their rooms. When Housing assesses damage during move-out, we understand that normal wear and tear happens. Don’t try to fix it yourself.

Good Luck

We wish you success with wrapping up your spring coursework.

Please reach out to your resident assistant or coordinator for residence education with any questions regarding hall closing.
