Riding your bike to and from campus is a convenient and healthy way to get around!

University Housing strongly encourages bike riding as it is an important component of the university’s goal of reducing air pollution and traffic on campus. Before you begin riding your bike around campus, make sure to register for a bike permit. You can register your bike through this form from Parking and Transit.

Bike permits are important because they help staff locate the owner in the event that a bike is lost or stolen. Bike racks are conveniently located near the residence halls and throughout campus. There are some steep hills on campus, but all of the Razorback Transit buses that stop at off-campus living areas or shopping areas have bicycle racks.

The bus is also a great option when using a bike if there is bad weather.

Razorbikes

If you do not own a bike, Razorbikes is for you! Razorbikes is a free service provided by Transit and Parking.  This program allows students to use bikes on campus when they need to get around the university.

Razorbikes are painted black with a yellow fork and are dispersed at bike racks across campus. Razorbike users can sign up for free by visiting the parking office in the Administrative Services building or in the Harmon Avenue Garage.

Users will then sign up to receive a pass-code that will unlock any Razorbike on campus. Any bikes that are left on campus at the end of the academic year and are not claimed, will be added to this program.

Bike Repair

Do you have a bike that needs repairs? The Arkansas Union has you covered. Located near the bike racks on the southeast side of the union is a Bike-Fix-It station. There you will find a bike hanger, air pump, wrenches of various sizes, screwdrivers, folding hex keys, tire lever, and a QR code that links to repair instructions.

If the repair is something you need assistance with, visit the University Bike Shop in room 102 of the HPER building next to UREC Outdoors.
