Recycling for on-campus students became easier last month with the distribution of green recycling bags.

The Residents’ Interhall Congress (RIC) distributed green recycling bags and informational flyers to each resident’s room on-campus. The bags are reusable and have over-the-shoulder straps.

The bags are for residents to take their recycling to the recycling bins in their respective hall. Each hall offers recycling services to students.

Students from all different registerd student organization (RSOs) came to help with distributing Tuesday, Sept. 24. The majority of volunteers  were from LeadHogs, RIC and RA senate. The students split into teams in order to divide and conquer the task of distributing the bags to all of the halls.

Students who volunteered at the event were given the opportunity to post on Instagram with the hashtag #greenbagdistribution to enter a give-away.

Ozark Natural Foods graciously donated the items for the giveaway.

RIC is an organization designed to improve the quality of life for the on-campus population of students. Working as a collaborative unit for all residence halls, RIC is a governing body composed of executives, legislative representatives and judiciary officials.

RIC’s goal is to develop residence hall policies, procedures, programs and facilities to best serve the interests of students living on campus.
