It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

University Housing invites the campus community to join them in celebrating their second annual The Lights @ Maple program.

The holiday light program began Sunday and continues each night through Friday, Dec. 17.

Special activities will be available from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 3; Sunday, Dec. 5; and Saturday, Dec. 11.

While Northwest Arkansas offers a variety of holiday lights festivities, University Housing staff want to offer the community an experience that showcases holiday lights on campus.

An assortment of decorative lights will be on each night over a three-week period in the courtyards in and around Maple Hill East, West and South residence halls. These halls are located at 1263 W. Cleveland St. on the northwest corner of campus.

All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to come by and enjoy the uplifting glow of the lights. You can register for s’more making around a fire pit while holiday music fills the air on the nights listed below.

“This program is a labor of love,” said Leslie Parker, event organizer and coordinator for residence education. “As a current university employee and alum, I am honored to help bring it to our campus for all of those who may not feel safe walking to other regional light festivals or who are just looking for a more private setting to enjoy such a wonderful scene.”

“It really is a joy to watch all of the campus community members come and enjoy the lights and to see how it uplifts their spirits during what can be a challenging time academically, emotionally and mentally for so many,”  Parker said.

“I think it has real potential to become a staple part of our campus culture for years to come.”

Faculty and staff are welcome to bring their families. Only the faculty or staff member need to RSVP. See the links below to RSVP for the event.
