Flooding occurred Monday evening in about 50 rooms in the east wing of Adohi Hall’s Building B after a damaged sprinkler head discharged on the building’s fifth floor.

University Housing staff cleaned up water, walked rooms, moved carpets and necessary belongings into dry areas that night to prevent further damage.

Contractors and campus facilities staff are on site now assessing the extent of water damage to the building.

University Housing asks the students in rooms which might be affected to not return to campus if they have already left for Thanksgiving Break.

The floors affected are considered an active worksite where workers are investigating the extent of the water damage. To eliminate unnecessary student traffic,  students may not be allowed into the east wing of the building.

More information is expected either later today or early tomorrow. We will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available
