Midterms and Fall break have just ended, which makes it a perfect time to look back on the year so far. Down the hill in Honeycomb, we have been having a blast this year. We have had great turn out at the incredible events put on by the Pomfret and Adohi Resident Assistants. The neighborhood wide events are definitely the highlight of the month. These events allow both Pomfret and Adohi residents to attend, helping make Honeycomb feel a little more like home.

Get Rooted

This event was the first Pomfret event with almost 120 residents attending. This was an event created to get residents down the hill connected with resources on and around campus. This event took place on September 6th and was such a fun way to “get rooted” on campus, by allowing residents to talk to organizations and paint a pot for their new succulent.

Fall Festival

We started out the year strong with the Fall Festival, which took place on September 20th. The Resident Assistants set up the Adohi/Pomfret Lawn with music, drinks, hotdogs, and lots of activities, so residents could attend and meet others from the neighborhood. Residents played cornhole, painted, and played duck pond to win a prize. This event was such a fun way to head into the chilly weather.

Coffee, Cider, and Cinnamon Rolls with Cops and Canines

Cinnamon rolls and dogs is a win for everyone and this event is proof. This event packed the Adohi Cabin with lots of people eager to see the dogs and grab a little treat. Residents from both halls came and chatted with UAPD and their little furry friend while enjoying apple cider and cinnamon rolls baked by the Adohi staff with love!

Honeycomb is such a special place to live. Down the hill we are swarming with opportunity for residents to take advantage of. Although October is coming to a close, it’s not too late to get involved in Urec’s “Fitober” by enrolling in a free class or taking advantage of the fitness rooms just down Stadium road. The Creative Community is connected to Adohi and is always putting on a fun workshop that you can attend with friends. If you’re just looking to get crafty, they have a ton of free resources all students can use. Honeycomb is never short of opportunity, so as you finish out the semester strong, check out some of the awesome opportunities we have within our neighborhood.
