Join us Thursday on the Maple Hill lawn for Straight Shot, an alcohol-free outdoor party with live music and “mocktails” and food.
The event starts at 8 p.m., March 30 outside Maple Hill South. All students are invited. It is an @Home event from University Housing.
Straight Shot is an exciting way for students to spend time with friends, make memories, listen to great music and experience an alcohol-free environment without spending money or leaving campus.
“Straight shot is a wonderful program that demonstrates that you can have a great time in college without alcohol and drugs. It will be an electric atmosphere with great music and with a few twists and turns for you to be on the lookout for,” said Asher Morgan, Ph.D, a substance abuse prevention coordinator for the Pat Walker Health Center.
Get Your Wristband
The program is designed to emulate a Row Week party. The planning team will set up a fence on the Maple Hill lawn to create a party atmosphere.
University Housing’s resident assistants will provide students with wristbands the week of March 26 that will grant students access to the event.
Brady Troops, former University of Arkansas baseball player and contestant on “The Bachelorette” will perform live music.
UAPD will provide education about safe drinking while facilitating amusing activities involving drunk goggles.
University of Arkansas students from the theatre department and the No Woman Left Behind program will act out various scenes throughout the event to spread awareness about the significance of safe drinking habits.
