University Housing established the Housing Family Scholarship fund to provide book scholarships for a dependent child, grandchild, niece or nephew of a Housing staff member.

This scholarship fund became endowed in Spring 2019 and the first four recipients of the book scholarship were selected.

The recipients are:

  • Evyn Doran, a senior from Farmington majoring in elementary education
  • Lexie Madewell, a freshman from Prairie Grove majoring in finance
  • Ryan Ozanich, a junior from Mena majoring in biology and kinesiology
  • Courtney Soulsby, a junior from Fayetteville majoring in public health

University Housing employs approximately 175 full-time staff members who serve our on-campus students in the residence halls on a daily basis.

“Many of our staff members work at the university for the sole purpose of providing a tuition waiver for their children or dependents. This book scholarship is another way to help ease the financial costs of a college education,” said Florence Johnson, assistant vice chancellor for University Housing.

University Housing is appreciative of the generosity of the supporters of this scholarship whose gifts and donations led to its endowment. This scholarship will be awarded each year at the beginning of the fall semester.
