Residence halls and Lead Hogs members took pride in showing off their Razorback Spirit during the Homecoming season, all part of an overall Homecoming Spirit competition among the halls.

Throughout Homecoming week, Oct. 10-16, and leading up to the Homecoming parade, students across campus participated in a competition in designing banners and golf carts. The banners, showcasing the overall Homecoming theme of “Calling All Hogs Home,” were displayed outside of their respective residence halls.

In addition to banner designs, residence halls had the opportunity to decorate their own golf cart that were driven in the Homecoming Parade. The theme for the golf carts was “Retro.” Not only did students design their own golf cart, but they also had the chance to walk alongside it in the parade.

For the banner design competition, Pomfret Hall took first place, with Yocum and the combined Holcombe and Futrall team taking second and third, respectively.

Pomfret’s banner showcased all the previous Razorback logos. Yocum’s banner drew inspiration from The Wizard of Oz, complete with a yellow-brick road leading up to Old Main. Finally, Holcombe/Futrall’s banner included a world map, with Razorbacks all over the world making their way back to Arkansas.

In the golf cart design competition, Pomfret and Adohi took first place. Their Lead Hogs took the theme of “Retro” seriously, dating their design inspiration all the way back to 1871. The Maples and Reid teamed up for their design, taking home a second-place win. Their golf cart was transformed into a Razorback-mobile.

Finally, Hotz placed third with their groovy, 70s-inspired golf cart design.
