The University of Arkansas community celebrated Margaret Clark’s hard work and dedication to the university on Sept. 27 at a reception in the Razorback Room of Fulbright Dining.

Clark also toured her namesake hall, accompanied by residential staff.

Her lasting impact on the U of A was recognized in 2019 when Clark Hall was named after her. While at the university, Clark took on many roles in the community.

She was the first black female professor at the U of A, served on the Board of Directors of the Washington County Historical Society, was the first president of the Phi Alpha Omega chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc, and much more.

Her legacy is an example to all students at the University of Arkansas.
